The Blog Author Box
On the sidebar you will see a box directly below the navigation called with a heading which says “Blog Author.” As the heading states, this is about the primary blog user or admin. By default, after installing this theme, you will not see that box or its image, but it is designed to be easily enabled, like so…
- The first thing you’ll want to do is edit the 50×70px jpg theme image called bb_author.jpg and uploaded to the theme images folder (/wp-content/themes/beastblog-v2/images/).
- Once that’s done in the admin go to the “Users” page. Be sure you’re logged in as you main admin and go to “Your Profile.”
- Scroll down to the “About yourself” textarea on that page and add whatever text you want to say, like Welcome to my blog, enjoy your stay.
- Once done, click the “Update Profile” button to save your edits.
Once you’re done with this the box will automatically be present with image and content, as if by magic. Easy, right?
Note: While you’re editing “Your Profile” be sure to choose a “Nickname” and select to have it display publicly (the pulldown). Unless turned off (See Configuration, the Nickname will be displayed on posts like this: Posted January 18th, 2007 by Mike Cherim. (See it under this article’s heading.)
