- What’s the 1×1 pixel transparent sb_accesspatch.gif image for? Not something evil I hope.
- Nope, not evil. The opposite in fact. That image is embedded in the “Logo Box” at the top of the Sidebar. The hover/focus effect is applied to the large background image not an embedded image, but alternate text needs to be in place if images aren’t supported. So, instead of a more complex image replacement technique like that used on the masthead image, the tiny clear gif was used instead, solely for it’s
altattribute and alt text. This text is configurable in the USERS_MODS file with the other Logo Box options. - Q: Slow Form Submission. When submitting the contact form, there seems to be a waiting period. What’s happening and why does it take so long?
- A: I am aware of this and agree that it seems slow taking up to 15 seconds to submit. There are no reported errors though and the only thing I can think of it the sheer amount of processing power it takes to send. In the script there are roughly forty functions, variables, and conditions which need to pass before the mail function sends the visitor’s message. Most of this is for form security. This is still open and under investigation.
