GreenMethods.com
GreenMethods.com —
I just wanted to announce the launch of — my company’s site about biological pest control and integrated pest management (IPM). It’s a rather expansive site, but it matches the subject matter to a tee. It, too, is expansive. The site took me about a month-and-a-half to make and that was a period of long hours. It represents half of what I’ve learned about web development (the other half was long ago tossed out the window.)
I made the site using PHP server-side scripting, CSS, and it’s written to the XHTML 1.0 Strict specification. Its purpose, of course, is to provide unequalled information on the subject matter, but its focus is to provide intuative and easy access to said information. It’s a smart site which goes deep on the tech side and is loaded with features, but most of the intelligence will be unseen and unfelt. JavaScript usage is one such example. If the visitor cannot use it they simply won’t see it. They won’t miss anything useful or important, but if it is something of that nature, a usable alternative will be provided to them. Simple.
I would like to thank the following individuals who in some way, shape, or form helped me get the job done:
First my wife, Georgann, and kids, Sarah and Chris for putting up with me. Also my dog. I think I forgot to feed him once (which is okay as I probably fed him twice on another day). I’d also like to say thanks to Jonathan Fenocchi for his PHP and XML help. To Ryan Brill for making the original PHP/XML Guestbook which spanwed my PHP/XML/RSS Latest News feed. Then there’s the JavaScript help I got from “zcorpan” and Bill Posters from the Accessify Forum, and from GAWDS.org and Gawds_Discuss listserv: Colin Steele and Rick Huby (helped me make my glossary script smarter), and Thierry Koblentz (CSS advice). Also I’d like to thank Scott Hege who helped me with some email issues and DNS stuff during the domain name transfer. Last, but not least, thanks goes to the zillions of people who’ve written stuff about web stuff on the web. There’s some good info out there.
Enjoy the site.

Congratulations! Not only do your websites look great, but they also follow all the recent web standards. I would like to let your clients know that they are definately getting their money worth, and I hope that more web designers/developers follow in your footsteps! I am just starting out with web design (actually still studying) and I wouldn’t say your my idol, but hopefully my competition in the future
Love the work,
Sam.
