New Beast-Blog Theme Localization
I’m pleased to announce my accessible Beast-Blog theme has been once again localized, this time in Hebrew — the first one was done in French. I’m grateful to Sharon Gefen for doing the work on it. Toda raba, Sharon. I must say it looks pretty cool with a right-to-left letter direction. It really pleases me to see the popularity of this theme keep right on growing and growing.
When I made it I never had a clue as to how well it would be received. But with downloads and counting later (just from my domain) it sort of sets it in my mind that the people in the WordPress forums were right when they encouraged me to release it.
The Beast-Blog them is available for download in English of course, French, and now Hebrew. So what’s next? I may do a new English version (v.1.2) when I get some time — I suppose it could use a bit of an update. But how about some other languages? German? Japanese? Your favorite tongue? If anyone’s interested, please contact me.

It was a pleasure to localize Beast-Blog, and I’m sure it will be very popular in Hebrew too!

Sharon was nice enough to give me a little Hebrew education in a follow-up email. Check this out:
The name “Green-Beast” translates directly to “Green-Animal,” and “Beast-Blog” translates directly to “Animal-Blog” in Hebrew.
I think that has a nice ring to it, don’t you?
Note: The Hebrew text in the graphic, as Shaorn modified it, translates “Beast of a Blog” and I like that too! Hear me roar!

I’ve received two emails as a result of this posting so far. One negative one, and one positive one. I’ll get the negative one out of the way first:
The negative email came from someone calling themselves “Sam Davis” with an IP resolving out of the BarnField College Technology Centre located in Bedfordshire, GB. I think it’s probably a pseudonym. The so-called Sam Davis called me a [expletive]. Hey “Sam,” maybe I am a [expletive], maybe I’m not a [expletive], maybe I’m somewhere in between. I’ve been called worse. I actually responded to the email with a similar sentiment. Ignorant [expletive] is what I think. :p
Okay, now the positive stuff…
Binary Version Available
An acquaintance of mine, Neal Venditto, in response to my original post when I requested localizations/translations in “Your favorite tongue,” sent me his version of my theme: A binary version!
Neal stated:
I love it. And I made Neal’s work available so if you want to download the binary version, you can!
Thank you, Neal, er, rather, 01010100 01101000 01100001 01101110 01101011 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 00101100 00100000 01001110 01100101 01100001 01101100 00001010!

Heh, it was a fun distraction.
As for the “Sam Davis” fellow, well, it’s just pathetic. Really, you donate your own free time and give your work free to the community, and all he can do is try to belittle you. What has he done for the community, I wonder.
